March 20: the clouds will part and the sun will shine again – OPENING RECEPTION

March 20 – April 20, 2016

Opening Reception Sunday, March 20 2:00 – 5:00pm

“We should be mindful of everything, for we can interpret everything.” -Hermann Hesse, The Glass Bead Game

Melissa Fisher-Rozenberg is pleased to share her newest site-specific installation “the clouds will part and the sun will shine again”.

In the hallway gallery of Artscape Gibraltar Point, Fisher-Rozenberg uses thread, found objects, vinyl and collage works to create an installation guided by the architectural details of this space. Her installations are intricate; utilizing meditative, time-consuming processes to explore loss, spirituality, mental health and emotionality.

Also on view is Fisher-Rozenberg’s installation, “There and Back Again (version 3)” housed in the small stairwell leading to the South Lawn entrance. Originally created for EXVEE, a fundraiser held in the summer of 2015 marking Artscape Gibraltar Point’s 15th anniversary, the piece was reworked for her wedding last September, and now again for the opening of “the clouds will part and the sun will shine again”.

Come celebrate the welcoming of spring & AGP’s new floors!! And also embark on open studios of some artists in residence at the moment including: Bruce Horak, Claire Carew, Fake Art School, Heather Gentleman, Snaige Sileika & More!

The artist graciously acknowledges the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.
